HERITAGE MUSEUM to
OPEN
for the season on Memorial Day
Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday thru Saturday
closed on Sundays
Featured new exhibits are Charcoal
sketches by Tom DeMille,
Marine prints by Thomas Wells, internationally known
marine artist
and a native of Menominee.
A special exhibit will feature
veterans of the Vietnam War.
Col. William Nolde, a Menominee native, was the last
soldier to die in that War.
The Museum Gift Shop has been recently
re-organized with books, gifts, printed materials and
new CD's and DVD's of Menominee History. A map from the
early days is available.
Postcards made from pictures of local historical sites,
taken by the Junior Historians from the DAR Boys & Girls
Club have been added.
ANUTA RESEARCH CENTER
OPENS
for the season on May 27.
Hours are 1:00 to 5:00 on Wednesdays
8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays
New equipment has been acquired
through a grant from the M & M Foundation to better
preserve our collections and make them more available to
those who inquire.
Photos from our collection have been
featured on the "From the Past" page of the Eagle-Herald
which is published each Monday.
HERITAGE DAY
The second Heritage Day will be presented at the Marina
Park on June 6, 2009
Historical Displays will entertain
you.
Downtown Tours will be given.
Your choice of North or South Tour - or both.
Guided Tours are free.

The "Downtown Menominee Historic
Walking Tour" is available for information about the
buildings in our Historical District and a bit of their
history. Come for the Tour or it is a guide to
the two
self-directed tours.
A CD replicates the book with
additional information about the tenants of the
buildings over the years.
